War With Mexico

Manifest Destiny lead to the rapid westward expansion of America. Americans rapidly traveled west and settled in lands that belonged to others. Pushing out Native Americans and annexing Mexican lands, tension quickly rose. Fighting was inevitable, and the Mexican War eventually broke out.

The American forces quickly defeated the Mexicans resulting in the Treaty of Guadalupe. In the Treaty, Mexico gave America Texas, California, New MExico, and most of Utah, Nevada, Arizona, and Colorado in exchange for $15 million
